7 Reasons Why You Should Get First Look Photos Taken
First look photos are when you see each other before the ceremony and both of your reactions are photographed. I personally love first look photos even though it is stepping away from your typical wedding traditions. There’s just something so special about the moment and the actual photo.
Here are 7 reasons why I think you should have first look photos
1. You can have a minute alone to really appreciate the moment
With first look photos, no one else needs to be around. It can literally be all about just seeing each other on the best day of your life.
2. You can get your photos taken before the ceremony
This means that the photos won’t be so rushed, and you won’t be so rushed to get to your wedding reception after the ceremony. You also don’t have to worry about ruining your attire/makeup before the photos….Because the photos were already taken.
3. You can have your reception right after the ceremony
There won’t be a need for a cocktail hour because you will be able to get the reception just as fast as your guests. You can jump right into the festivities. Or you can be able to attend your own cocktail hour and enjoy some time with your guests.
4. Your guests will not have to kill time after the ceremony
If your guests are from out of town, they won’t have to worry about finding a place to go for a few hours between your ceremony and reception. For the most part, they are able to go straight to the reception.
5. Calming your nerves
First look photos allow you to relax a little bit before your ceremony. This allows for better photos, but most of all it allows for you to actually enjoy your day before it’s too late.
6. It’s easier for the photographer to get a great first look photo this way
Your photographer will have you set up so that they are able to capture those spectacular moments. There will be other interferences and it can be all about the first look.
7. It will be about you as a couple
When the ceremony starts, it’s hard to really capture both the bride’s and the groom’s reactions. Most of the time, the attention is more focused on just one person. With a first look, your photographer will be able to capture both of your reactions.
