DIY Giant Paper Roses For Wedding Bouquets
I’ve always loved the giant paper rose that popped up on Pinterest a little over a year ago. They could make for some seriously interesting bridal bouquets.
I’ve meant to try making them for a long time and just never got the time to sit down and do it. Today I did just that. I sat down and made one. It’s pretty rewarding when that rose starts to take it’s shape! I didn’t enlarge the template, so it’s just a little bit bigger than a regular size rose. I also didn’t put a lot of time into rolling the edges of the petals.
Overall, I really like the way it turned out.
It’s pretty, and I think they would make beautiful bouquets for a wedding. They’re fairly straight forward to do as well. I’d recommend following Martha Stuart’s blog about how to make them and Green Wedding Shoes blog (it goes a little more in depth and has pictures).
However, just like every other DIY project, these take time.
My suggestion would be to be sure you have a lot of time. I worked on my little one for over two hours…And I’m not completely satisfied. Plus, you will definitely need more than one rose if you have a bridal party as well.
Get some friends together and have a night of making them.
You certainly don’t have to be an artist to make these roses. Try making some in funky colors, or stick to your wedding colors. Also experiment with the sizes of the roses. The sky is the limit with this project.
